Meet Signa

Hello! I’m Signa—a historian, classical studies student, and devoted lover of all things ancient, obscure, and a little bit peculiar. I’m currently based in beautiful Scotland, where I work at the Dundee Museum of Transport (yes, I do occasionally talk to the vehicles—don’t we all?).

My passions lie in Early Medieval Britain, The Classical period, and the myth-soaked landscapes of pre-Christian civilizations. Whether I’m handling a centuries-old artefact or theorizing about a Roman road trip gone wrong, I’m happiest when surrounded by history.

When I’m not digging through the past, you can find me gaming, cosplaying, running a D&D campaign or two, and enthusiastically twirling in historically inaccurate dresses.

Here on the blog, you’ll find posts exploring both the well-trodden paths of history and the odd alleyways—those niche, eccentric, or delightfully weird tales that don’t always make the textbooks. From ancient curses to the invention of the rubber duck, nothing is too strange to be studied.  I’ll also be sharing transcripts of my TikTok videos here, both for accessibility and because some of those bite-sized stories deserve a place on the shelf too.

AI Disclosure

A little note about AI disclosure. I use ChatGPT to help me edit my posts. I am both visually impaired and dyslexic and I use AI to fix any spelling and grammatical errors I have made.

While I am currently reducing my reliance on AI with the help and support of my wonderful Nooklings, this is a process and may take some time.

I like dinosaurs and long walks on the beach. Signa forced me into this, I had no say in the matter. It is a good job she is cute.
