Hello Nooklings, happy We... Friday!
This week's letter is coming to you a couple of days late, and let's address the elephant in the room, yes I am writing this at 06:30.
I'm also booking tutorials for one of my OU modules! That's right, it's that time of year! My modules start in just over 2 weeks, my books have arrived, my study websites are open, and the forums open tomorrow! All that's left for me to do is book the tutorials for my 2nd module when those go live.
For those who are unaware, the Open University is a distance learning university. Some courses have in person tutorials and summer schools, but the vast majority of study is done online. You are assigned a tutor who you can contact via e-mail when needed, but the bulk of your study is self guided. Module books are supplied, and audio and visual resources are provided online, too.
The main reason I study with the OU is the flexibility. If I'm having a fibro crash or flare, I can lay in bed and work through things one step at a time, if my insomnia kicks in, like it has today, I can use that time to study. Study materials are also available in accessible formats, so it's a very adaptable system for people with different needs.
This week in my life
I've had an exciting week! On Monday I visited Discovery Point with Endy. To celebrate 100 years since RRS Discovery was given her royal designation, the site was open for free for a long weekend. I loved every moment of it. Dundee Fringe is also on at the moment and we went to one of the shows on Monday. We had planned to go to others but I have been feeling unwell for a couple of days.
This week in the Nook Ancient Medical Practices: Humorism. (Not as Funny as it Sounds.)
Mystery illness also stopped me from writing my posts for this week. I had a few planned but I've pushed those back to next week.
This has been a short one today, but hopefully next week things will be back to normal now that I'm feeling better.
Until next time, Signa.
